Public Cloud is an IT model where services and infrastructure are managed by a third-party provider and shared with multiple organizations using the public Internet. That means it offloads much of the physical responsibility of operating a data center to a third party. This helps to abstract away much of the complexity of managing infrastructure by focusing on the virtualization layer and above.
Public cloud architecture can be further categorized by service models as mentioned below:
IaaS-Provides Infrastructure as a service like storage, servers, virtual machines are offered to organizations over the internet.
PaaS-Provides the platform for application development without the headaches of the operating system and development tools or maintaining hardware. Organizations simply pay as needed to build the custom application. It represents kind of “ready-to-use” environment typically comprised of already deployed and configured IT resources.
SaaS-Provides the model in which software applications are delivered over the internet as a service. Applications like Gmail, outlook are examples of SaaS.

All three cloud delivery models can be combined to establish layers of IT resources that build upon each other.
